The Prodigal Son Has Returned...Sort of

Avery, Braden and I drove all over the neighborhood this morning putting up a million "lost dog" signs. It paid off because when I got home, a sweet lady called me and said, "honey! I know where your dog is!" She said someone came to her door yesterday with our dog and was looking for the owner. She was taking him to the humane shelter if she couldn't find the owner.

I said, "thank you! thank you! thank you!"

She said, "go get your dog, sweetie!"

So, I called the humane shelter and they said they had a female Pekinese who had not been fixed, but I was "more than welcome to come look for myself" when I questioned them.

After loading the kids back up (did I mention Avery sported a 101 temperature this morning), visiting the shelter, fighting construction, crying baby, scared Avery, and taking down the million signs we put up, we now have our Curtis!

He didn't return on his own, but he's home safe and sound.

I am so very happy for you guys!!!! I'm sure that Curtis is so happy to back with you guys and not at the shelter. I am sure that you were a nervous wreck. I am so glad that they gave you your dog back. I've heard of some shelters that are not so kind. Hope that Avery gets to feeling better soon!

That is so scary, our dog ran away a couple of weeks ago when Brandon was gone and I was ok with it during the day when it was warm (50) outside, but that night it got down in the 20's and I was so worried...thankfully we got a call the next day that a lady had found her and kept her overnight for us...what a hassle though!

I'm so glad you found Curtis!! I would be so upset if Toby went missing, and we haven't even had him that long.

Curtis is a boy..when they processed him into the shelter, they got it wrong on the paperwork. He's clearly a boy. Poor guy.
