As usual, I've let Facebook get in the way and haven't kept my journal up to date.
Grammy and Pop came to visit for my birthday. It was so much fun.
Braden has started soccer.
Avery starts gymnastics today.
Kenny has had two football games, and won both!
We are settling in to town now. It's fun that you can see people you know and wave now. We're not outsiders anymore.
Last night was our first small group meeting with a new group of friends. I look forward to building stronger relationships with each of them.
Jon and Stacy and the kids are coming this weekend for their last hurrah before moving to Honduras.

Updating
I've really been upset with myself that I haven't been documenting things on my blog like I used to. I blame it on Facebook, and the ability to add quick snippets as statuses. In the past, even if the snippet was quick, it usually blossomed into a full blown story. I blame my mom for that; for being the Mrs. Story-Teller of all times, then passing a little of the gene along to me.
So now that blame has completely been cast off of me, I want to attempt to remember a few of the things we've been up to. Unfortunately, our computer died a little while back. Fortunately, we have a fabulous friend who offered to build us a really nice one at a very nice price. I say all of that to say, now I have our great new computer, but no pictures have been uploaded in a long time, so those will come later.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the pool at Nonna's (Kenny's mom and dad's) this summer. We were worried for a little because Braden did not show interest in the water like he did last summer. Now, all worries are aside. We don't know when it happened, but some switch has been flipped, and we now have our water baby back. He is still more cautious than Avery ever was in the water, but at least he is in, and not sitting around the edge basking like a sunbather. Of course Avery has enjoyed the water since day one, and has 'graduated' to no floaties. She stays in the shallow end, but has tested out her minor swimming skills the few times she ventured a little too deep. We spend our time with Mrs. Potts (the giant teapot and accessories), having tea parties, playing dolphin (which consists of jumping out of the water, back into the water, headfirst), flipping under water, competing against daddy to see who can stay under water the longest, and many, many, many other exciting games.
The kids and I took a trip to Texas in June to visit my family. My brother was great to fly into Montgomery, only to turn around and travel the 12 hours it took us in the car, back to Forney. After our stay there, he was not scared off from the first trip, and did the same going back. I was very appreciative for the extra set of hands, and of course the kids were enamored with Uncle Jase since they don't get to be around him much. The trip itself really did fly by. Grammy and Pop enjoyed their grandbabies, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with everyone as well. I even got to spend one of the days there with my very best friend from high school. Seems like everytime we see each other, we pick up where we left off. It's neat to see how our lives are still similar; both married, two kids, same interests, etc. It is always hard to say goodbye after such a great visit, but on the flipside, it's always nice to come home. I was not the only one ready to see Kenny again; the kids were very ready to see their daddy. We got home late Wednesday night, and Thursday when they woke up, they asked, "Oh no, is daddy gone again!?" They were glad to hear he would be home after a short workday.
Volleyball has started up again. We have all three teams practicing together for the summer, and it's been a great group to work with this year. I look forward to seeing how the season turns out.
Avery has enjoyed going to VBS this week. I didn't get to help out this year, and Braden still isn't old enough for classes, but he and I always go early to pick Avery up. He enjoys the singing and 'dancing' in the wrap up session. Avery asked him to sit with her class, so he feels like a big boy. I often stop and wonder where my babies went.
I started the P90X workout, and am over halfway through week 2. Sometimes I feel like I've been doing it for a long time, but then realize I'm only in week two. I still have a little way to go before I hit my goals, but am very proud of what I am accomplishing now. My eating habits are so much better now, topped with exercising everyday again really has been a good lifestyle change for me.
I have been working on the football media guide for the upcoming season. It's in the wrapping up stage now. It's been a big project, and is taking me a while since I only work on it when the kids are in bed, and I think it will be nice when it's all said and done.
Kenny is excited about his football team this year. I look forward to seeing how they all come together because it seems like a fantastic group of kids.
I'm in the beginning stages of transitioning to Braden's big boy room. I've held off because sometimes it's just easier to let him play where he can't get out of his crib, but he is such a big kid now: literally. I'm not sure how much longer he will fit in his crib. It's exciting getting new things together to change it over. It will be a while before that's finished, but I will be sure to post pictures.
I guess that's it for now.

Catch up....seems like all my posts say that
I let myself get behind again. The other day I tried to figure out why I haven't blogged in so long, and I decided it was because most of my kid quirps end up going in my facebook status instead of creating them into a full-blown blog post. The facebook status is nice when I don't have a lot of time. However, it also is a hindrance because it does not allow me to save it in my 'journal,' or share the entire hilarity of said kids' comments.
Thanksgiving was fantastic as usual! Per our tradition, our great friends, Jon and Stacy, were able to come with their chillins, Lawson and Jordan, to stay a few days and enjoy the festivities. Stacy and I realized our tradition, which feels like started yesterday, is now going on eight years...maybe nine..it's been too long since we've calculated, that I can't even remember now. Either way, it's been a long time. We've been in each other's lives since the summer after Jon and Stacy were married. Our paths have seen ups and downs in our own lives, as well as the lives of others. We all celebrated the announcement of their first child, Lawson, then again with the announcement of Avery's impending birth five months after that. Kenny and I were able to welcome Lawson into the world, then the Stacy's did the same with Avery. A few years down the road, Jordan came along. We were already in Montgomery, but we were so happy to travel to see their new one! Later on, Braden came along, and they helped us celebrate that as well. It's been great to share so many of life's experiences and 'firsts' with another couple who loves the Lord like our family does. It feels like we've grown up together, and now are kids are getting to do the same thing.
Now that I've caught up on November and December, I've realized that January has come, and is almost gone!
I say all of this to say, I hope to be back on the bandwagon in the blog world. I realized I did not post anything about Thansgiving or Christmas! Shame on me. And now, since both holidays are so far removed, no one really wants to read about them, much less me type about them. As stated earlier, I do want to jot down a few things about each so I can remember them in years to come.

Thanksgiving was also fun because Kenny's dad, and brothers, Tom, Jon and Kirk were in town too! Their mom had returned to Colorado to tie up loose ends with their house. I don't even think I've blogged about the fact that Kenny's family has moved here! Kirk is a senior in high school this year, and is going to school where Kenny teaches. It's been fun having family around since we've gone our whole marriage without having any family in town with us.
Of course another favorite part of any Thanksgiving is having tons of other friends around as well. Dawn and Chris were also here, and we got to enjoy their baby, Brady's, first Thanksgiving! Stacy and I ventured out again on Black Friday. I used to not have any desire to do that, but we have now completed two Black Friday operations, and come away with great deals and most of the kids' Christmas presents. We hope to continue that tradition as well!
Let's fast forward to Christmas. We stayed here this year. Normally we do a lot of traveling, but since Kenny's family was here, my parents and brother decided they would come here too! It was such a fun time sharing dinner, movies and great fellowship together. Avery and Braden were so blessed to have both sets of grands, as well as four uncles and one aunt to celebrate with.
I was so behind with things this year that I did not manage to get Christmas cards out. Some of the best pictures I got of the kids were when they were in their pajamas. I guess those would have been our choice to send out, had we printed cards. We also found one family picture in the mix. 
Now that I've caught up on November and December, I've realized that January has come, and is almost gone! I am not one to really make resolutions, but I have decided to have a more positive outlook on life, people, friends, everything! So far so good...of course I've hit my fare share of bumps, but my new attitude has made living much more fun. I challenge everyone to do the same!

Also going on: Volleyball season has come to a close. We made it to the State playoffs, one of the Elite 8 Teams present.
Kenny's football team is in the playoffs this year!
Just recently spent some time in Texas with my family. Although I was there for my Papa's funeral, it was a treasured time.
I have a lot to say, but I'm not in the mindset right now to say it all. I truly am blessed to have such a wonderful family. This is a joyous time of my life.

Where To Start?!
So. Far. Behind!
Cruise was great! Pictures are on my facebook. I'm sure everyone has seen them by now. My goal is to post one video from dinner one evening..such silliness. It was such a nice treat to get away and enjoy alone time with my man. We met some really nice people along the way, experienced some very fun activities (para-sailing, snorkeling, Mayan ruins, etc.), and enjoyed great weather! It was nice to get back to see the kiddos! Here's to sending a GIGANTIC thanks to Kenny's parents for coming to spend time with them while we were gone.
For the past three months I have been working on a huge project for Kenny's football team. Gladly, I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. When I'm completely finished, I will post about it. It's fun to see how far it has come since the beginning. Gives me a sense of accomplishment other than cleaning the kitchen and keeping the kids alive. :)
After the cruise, we were home for a few days, then headed to Huntsville for our yearly coaching clinic and reunion with sweet friends! It was fun to spend several days there catching up and letting the kids play with old friends.
We got back from Huntsville on Saturday, and I left for volleyball camp on Sunday. Camp was a great success! The girls clicked well, and played very well! We made it to the Gold bracket for the first time since varsity has been going to camp there! Avery and Braden had a great time with Daddy. He enjoyed getting to spend time with them too, but I'm pretty sure he was glad when I got home Tuesday to take back over mom duty. He showed his appreciation with beautiful flowers, a clean house, and a very sweet card with a nice sentiment written inside.
Kenny had to work a longer day Wednesday to catch up and get ready for football camp, which he left for today.
It's been a crazy month, and it's only going to continue from here!
We look forward to Kenny's brothers, Tom and Kirk, coming to visit next week. I have something for volleyball everyday as well, Kenny continues gearing up for football season. Somewhere in there we sign papers to refinance our house.
I'm sure everyone else has just as crazy, busy lives. I didn't know what to start posting about since everything deserved an individual post, so I wrote the Reader's Digest version. Maybe that will serve as my catch up and I will feel like I can pick up from here.

Loooong Overdue
So, it's been a while since my last post. Just like everyone else, things have been pretty busy around here. Track season has monopolized my time for long enough. Thankfully, the State meet is this weekend, and I will have a little more time freed up after next week's Heptathalon.
I never posted pictures from Avery's and my date to Disney on Ice. It was a fantastic evening, filled with lots of laughs, smiles, a knot in my throat (because she was so joyous at one point), Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Lightning McQueen, Ariel and her crew, Lion King and his crew, and Tinkerbell and the rest. We had so much fun!!! Avery wanted to get dressed up in her new "Easter Dress". She sat like a little lady, with her hands in her lap while we waited for it all to begin. The look on her face when the lights went down and the first group came out is priceless. (That's when the lump happened...) I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Braden is also into everything these days. I guess it's partly because he's a boy, and partly because he's reached the 18 month old mark. Picture to prove his climbing capabilities. 
He has also discovered how fun it is to eat bananas.
Avery is as silly as ever.
And as clumsy as ever....
We took the kids last night to a mexican food restaraunt who had a special visitor, Dora the Explorer! Avery was thrilled to get her picture taken with (the giant, scary looking) Dora.
