I have 12 girls on the team, 8 of which have never touched a volleyball. (You see, I'm coming from a school where the girls start playing volleyball in the 4th grade.) After I failed to hide the shock on my face, I started to see how eager the girls were to learn. At least there is a silver lining on this cloud. Each day I get more excited because I can see the girls are actually getting better after only a few short practices. By the end of it all, this may be more satisfying that having a 21-0 record. I'll have to get back to you on that one!

You are such a great coach! I know that those girls love you already.
yeah gal. im sure you can mold them into something...you have alot to work with!!! I will have to come see your games this fall. or whenever volleyball season is. Im not a sports person. Im a poser. sorry.
Hey! I'm Kristy Crawford, also a fairly new newcomer to Montgomery. I ran across your blog from Ashley's and recognized your name from somewhere. I just ate lunch with Allison Guice to talk about Bunko, and she mentioned your name. Anyway, thought I'd say hello since I came across you. I teach English at Lee High School, and my husband works at Landmark as a youth minister, so we know lots of ACA kids. We also have a friend who coaches volleyball at Faulkner that you might have met... Anyway, sorry for the rambling, just thought I'd stop by to say hello; welcome to Montgomery; and hope to meet you sometime...maybe at Bunko!
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you!! You'll do great, I'm sure. We've missed you & Kenny at VP!
What a challenge! You go, girl! Love ya, MamaKat
