I Wonder...

I know I've mentioned before some of the crazy comments you get when you're pregnant. In a recent newsletter I saw some replies that go along with rude comments. I myself do not have the guts to ever say these (even with my pregnancy hormones), but I did chuckle when I read them.

"Really? Well, I grew someone's heart and brain today; what did you do?"

"Go ahead, but I'm not touching yours."

"At least I have a reason for my weight gain."

There were some others, but they were really, really mean. I wonder if there are people out there who would use some of these?

On a side note, has anyone popped off a reply before thinking twice? Do tell...!

I love the "go ahead, but I'm not touching yours." When pregnant with the twins, I got it all! "Twins! Better you than me. I would kill myself if that happened to me. Double Trouble. I always wanted twins, but then I had one baby and said no way." When I was pregnant with Jackson, it was all about sympathy. "Bless your heart. Was this planned? Oh my, how are you going to do it?" The list could go on and on.

There was nothing that I loved more than being pregnant with my children.

During the last few weeks of my pregnancy with Jackson, I was in the mall with Joshua and Abby Kate in their double stroller. As I approached these two older ladies, I got the usual "its twins" stare and smile. It was only when they saw my big belly behind the stroller that one lady gasped aloud. I turned around and wanted to say something rude and ugly, but could only manage to shake my head.

When I was 32 weeks along, I was shopping a baby store. I had an old woman come up to me and ask what I was naming my daughter, I told her Tatum. She told me she had twin grand daughters named Tatum and Kaitlyn and that she liked Kaitlyn MUCH better than Tatum b/c Tatum is a wierd name. I told her that was a shame and that she better not damage her grand daughter by telling her that. She was just silent as I waddled away. I like to think that she realized how rude she was and was just unsure how to appologize. :) I don't know why people are so rude to pregnant women! Argh.
