We left Texas on Saturday with the temperature reading 85 degrees. We arrived in Colorado with the temperature reading 24 degrees. We were excited that Avery (and us) would have a white Christmas.
Yesterday the forecast was for six to eight inches of snow. It did snow a little, but didn't stick or stay around. Today we woke up to snow piled against the window. Kenny's dad bought tickets to go see a movie, so we decided to bundle up and head out into the elements.
When I stepped out the front door, I fell into snow...guess where it came...up to my knees! It was exciting, but cold. Of course I didn't bring the proper shoes, so everything was soaked, and my feet were frigid.
We piled into Thomas' (Kenny's oldest brother) truck and headed to the theater. Little did we know, as we were leaving, a blizzard advisory went into effect. When we arrived at the mall, every store was closed, along with the theater.
So, we trudged back to the truck and back home. We did get here safely, and now we're snug and warm in the house.
The wind and snow are still swirling outside, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. (I'll post pictures as soon as I get them off of the camara.)

Sounds like fun! I would love to see that much snow one day. You are brave for getting out into it. I'm scared to leave the house even if we are get a dusting.
Today Kenny's dad wanted to get out, but the driveway was too deep, so Kenny, Tom, his dad and I got out and shoveled. Kenny's brother took his truck up the street because it looked too deep on the road and got stuck!
Can't wait to get the pictures off the camara. Today Kenny took Avery out in it. The wind isn't blowing as bad, just snowing.
She wouldn't get down and play in it, which is probably good because it would have been over her head. It came up past Kenny's knees today.
We want pictures! The snow sure sounds better than the steady rain here. Heavy snow is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I agree with my dad! I love snow. I'm sure y'all are really enjoying it. It's nasty to drive in, though! It makes it fun to stay inside & bundle up. :-)
We got out and went to the Garden of the gods today. It stopped snowing and the sun came out so it was gorgeous.
Kenny and I climbed up on the balancing rock...then we managed to get Avery up there with us..pictures coming soon.
I WANT SNOW!! [sigh]
Hey! I can't wait to see pics! Just like everyone else! I agree with Baron! I WANT SNOW. I will settle for white sand in Florida. Just bring the cold weather back with you. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home!
